About the artist

I have always had an interest in the world of art, and have explored many different media. My artistic career began in earnest in 1991 when my youngest daughter was born. I felt I needed to stay home. I started searching for a means in which to express myself and provide an income. I began by making and selling cloth dolls at local craft shows and then in March of 1993, I was introduced to a wonderful medium called Fimo Clay. I was instantly addicted!

Since my introduction to polymer clay, I have had a great need to create.  I learned to sculpt figures, make millifiori canes, turning them into jewelry, clothing for my figures and much more.  Sculpting is my first love!  There is a magic involved when right in my hands, before my eyes, a little person or character comes to life, with its own personality, likes, and dislikes.

Then there is the magic of millifiori! The technique that allows such a wide variety of looks. Quilt patterns lend themselves so well to this medium and there is a never-ending variety of patterns and color combinations. Once one is finished, another one just cries to be created.

I live on a 100+ year old farmstead in the northwestern corner of Minnesota, with my husband of 24 years.  We have three daughters-one is already on her own, one is in college, and our 10-year-old lives at home.  My hobbies include reading, gardening, and collecting all the information on polymer clay I can.

This is the place I call home.
