Appointed Meetings are those meetings where a council
member chooses to represent the city. The appointments are made
at the Annual Meeting in January and are stated in the minutes
for each January.
Salary Rates for each meeting are $25 for a council
member and the mayor. This amount is limited to one meeting
per month per committee.
Mileage will be reimbursed at the current federal rate
for travel to and from each meeting with mileage only
being reimbursed for one meeting per month per committee.
Payment for all meetings will be completed on June 30 of
each year for the first six months and December 31 of each year
for the last six months. Council must review and give approval
for payment of meeting attendance.
The degree at which each council member chooses to become
active in an appointed position is a personal decision. It is
the City of Kennedy’s viewpoint that it should be the
responsibility of the Committee to provide any remuneration for
additional meetings or subcommittees thereof.
Council members may use their discretion on receiving a
salary for meeting attendance of appointed positions. An area of
interest may become a passion for one person and they may so
choose to use personal time and resources to pursue that
interest.
